Chevron Internships: 2027 Guide

Chevron internships cover engineering, earth science, business, and information technology. See which of the 20 open roles students can apply for.

Chevron internships on Intern Insider mix facilities engineering with wells work, earth science, health and safety, trading, finance, land, corporate affairs, and information technology. When this guide was written, the Chevron page listed 20 open internships. This guide links the 15 that ask for current enrollment, or for a degree still in progress, and that do not name Summer 2026 as the term. Terms below are as listed on Intern Insider, unless a sentence names careers.chevron.com.

    What Chevron internships cover#

The Chevron company page describes Chevron as a public oil and gas company that produces crude oil and natural gas and manages refining, shipping, and pipelines, and that also develops motor fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals, energy technology, and renewable fuel projects. It says the company has over 55,000 employees, lists company size as 10,001+, and names headquarters in Houston plus a presence in San Ramon, California.

Chevron's internship programs page names corporate affairs, finance, human resources, information technology, procurement and supply chain, earth science, engineering, facilities engineering, health, safety, and environment, land, marine and shipping, and petroleum engineering.

    Facilities engineering roles#

The internship programs page says facilities engineers design, build, and maintain the facilities that bring oil and gas to market. The listings in this section are paid and on-site, and each says Chevron does not provide visa sponsorship.

It asks for current MBA enrollment, at least 3 years of work experience before the MBA, an academic background in business administration, finance, accounting, or economics, and permanent U.S. work authorization. The open listing says Houston. Use the listing.

The Supply Chain Management Development Program (SCMDP) Intern listing is 12 weeks in Houston. It asks for a first-year MBA or master's student with prior internship or relevant experience in procurement or supply chain, and it says Chevron does not provide visa sponsorship. The programs page separately describes a summer internship for college juniors in supply chain, typically in Houston, Richmond, California, or San Ramon. That program is not this listing.

The Supply & Trading TAMU TRIP Program Intern listing asks for an accepted participant in the Texas A&M Trading, Risk and Investment program and for permanent U.S. work authorization.

Five of the 20 stay on the Chevron page. This guide does not link them.

The page marks three as Summer 2026: 2026-2027 Petroleum Engineer Intern, 2026-2027 Earth Science Intern, and 2026-2027 Facilities Engineering Civil Engineering Intern. A Summer 2026 term has already passed. The petroleum posting asks for petroleum or chemical engineering, or a related discipline. The earth science posting asks for a master's or doctorate thesis program. The civil posting asks for civil engineering.

2025-2026 Facilities Engineering Civil Engineering Intern is marked rolling on the company page, and the posting text also calls the term rolling. It asks for current enrollment in civil engineering. The title names the 2025-2026 program, so this guide does not link it.

2026-2027 Marine and Shipping Intern asks for a B.S. or M.S. degree in naval architecture, marine engineering, or a related discipline, and for between 0 and 5 years of industry experience. It does not ask for current enrollment, so this guide does not link it. The internship programs page instead says applicants must have completed two years of undergraduate study in naval architecture, marine engineering, ocean engineering, marine transportation, or maritime business administration.

    Who can apply#

On the 15 linked listings, the work-authorization line is either "no visa sponsorship" or "permanent U.S. work authorization." The finance MBA listing says both. The internship programs page does not add a company-wide visa rule.

None of the 20 listings states a numeric grade point average (GPA). Several ask for strong academic performance. The software listing asks for an unofficial transcript. Several ask you to demonstrate The Chevron Way and do not define it.

    When and how to apply#

None of the 20 listings states an employer deadline. Intern Insider shows a recommended apply-by window, and that window is not an employer deadline. For the listings this guide links, the window falls on 29 November, 15 December, 22 December, or a date from 6 January 2027 through 16 January 2027. The new facilities listing is the exception. Its window is the day this guide was written, so it is not printed here. See when internship postings close and when summer 2027 applications open.

Chevron's hiring process page says the company recruits interns by major at select U.S. universities and conferences. Campus events fall primarily between September and November, and the event calendar is usually updated every August. Interview notice typically takes two to four weeks, and a first interview is typically on campus, often with behavioral questions. Students apply through their school, or through a conference, a nearby career fair, or an employee referral if the school is not listed. Recheck the Chevron page on the day you apply.

The same page says Chevron never solicits payments from applicants, does not appoint someone to collect payment for training or travel, and sends email from an @chevron.com address. Accommodation requests go to emplymnt@chevron.com.
