About the role#
Materials Engineering Interns provide technical support to refining or upstream facilities. You will work under the direction of a senior materials engineer to contribute to ongoing projects and operations. This is a full-time, paid internship that requires on-site attendance. Interns may be based at one of several U.S. refinery operations or within the Technology, Projects and Execution team.
What you'll do#
- Perform material selection and review technical specifications.
- Conduct corrosion and metallurgy studies.
- Execute failure analyses to support facility operations.
- Provide a written and oral summary of your internship, highlighting your contributions and impact.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate degree program in Metallurgical, Materials, or Corrosion Engineering.
- Strong academic performance in your core program.
- Ability to demonstrate The Chevron Way.
