2026-2027 Earth Science Intern

About the role#

This internship provides an opportunity to develop technical skills in geoscience, geophysics, and petrophysics. You will be assigned to projects that contribute value to Chevron, working within multi-disciplinary teams that may include geologists, engineers, data scientists, and software developers. Throughout the program, you will receive guidance from a supervisor and a technical mentor.

What you'll do#

• Contribute to projects focused on exploration, development, reservoir characterization, and well operations.
• Collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams to solve complex technical challenges.
• Apply academic knowledge to real-world subsurface characterization and operations.
• Utilize specialized skills in areas such as basin modeling, geophysics, stratigraphy, and geophysical interpretation.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Master’s or Doctorate Thesis program in geology, geophysics, geological engineering, or a related field.
• A professional or academic focus in a technical area aligned with Chevron’s business needs.
• Strong academic performance and demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams.
• Ability to demonstrate The Chevron Way.
• Note: This position may require routine driving.
