As a Land Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working within an asset team. You will contribute to real-world projects with direct business impact while working alongside a dedicated mentor and buddy. This role provides exposure to both traditional oil and gas operations and New Energies, culminating in a presentation of your work to senior leadership.
What you'll do#
- Develop an understanding of the upstream and downstream oil and gas business through a summer-long project and smaller assignments.
- Support negotiations with external partners and landowners, and assist in drafting agreements related to exploration and production.
- Perform title research and analysis for exploration, development, workover, and plug and abandonment wells.
- Provide land support to multidisciplinary teams to assist in strategic business decisions.
- Interact with federal and state agencies regarding oil and gas regulatory issues.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Political Science.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation ability to establish relationships with landowners, government agencies, and partner companies.
- Proficiency in planning and organizing to ensure work is completed efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and across cross-functional groups.
- Experience or aptitude in contract interpretation, drafting, and problem-solving, including the review of title opinions and chain of title documents.

- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $31.75 - $48.00 per hour, depending on degree level and academic year.
- Benefits: Includes furnished housing and participation in the Employee Savings Investment Plan with company matching contributions.
