About the role#
As a Land Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working within an asset team. You will contribute to real-world projects that impact the business. This role provides exposure to Chevron's operations, people, and culture, including both traditional oil and gas and New Energies. You will work with a dedicated mentor and buddy throughout the summer and present your project results to senior leadership at the end of the internship.
What you'll do#
- Develop a strong understanding of the upstream and downstream oil and gas business.
- Support negotiations with external partners and landowners.
- Assist in drafting agreements for exploration and production activities.
- Perform title research and analysis for exploration, development, and well abandonment.
- Provide land support to multidisciplinary teams to help stakeholders make strategic business decisions.
- Interact with federal and state agencies regarding regulatory issues.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Political Science.
- Effective communication skills for verbal and written interactions.
- Ability to establish relationships with third parties, including government agencies and landowners.
- Strong planning and organizing skills to complete work efficiently.
- Ability to operate effectively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in contract interpretation, drafting, and problem-solving.
