About the role#
Chevron is seeking Software Engineer Interns to join the team in Houston. This role focuses on delivering digital solutions through design, development, deployment, and support. Interns will work on key projects and digital innovation initiatives, collaborating with product teams to develop reusable software components and services. The position involves working across various areas, including web application development, system design, and security development.
What you'll do#
- Perform hands-on coding to deliver functional and innovative software solutions.
- Utilize CI/CD tooling to deploy software and iterate on solutions.
- Design and develop data integration and data management practices and tools.
- Integrate existing solutions with the larger enterprise ecosystem, including API development.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, to improve developer productivity while maintaining code quality, security, and governance standards.
- Apply responsible AI practices, including validation, testing, security review, and human oversight of AI-generated code.
- Leverage AI and automation capabilities to accelerate software delivery and operational excellence.
- Understand technical requirements to maintain and support applications.
- Deploy, configure, support, and enhance vendor software packages.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
- Submission of a current, unofficial transcript with your online resume.
