About the role#
GE Vernova offers a Summer 2027 internship program for students interested in the nuclear power industry. This full-time, on-site role is based in Wilmington, North Carolina, and provides exposure to manufacturing and supply chain operations within the nuclear energy business.
What you'll do#
- Drive customer satisfaction, quality, and material productivity through manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Evaluate and identify areas for improvement within the manufacturing environment, including the implementation of LEAN methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve production area quality and maintain technical knowledge of equipment standards and codes.
- Manage material sourcing by soliciting and evaluating proposals, conducting price analysis, and negotiating to meet quality and schedule needs.
- Implement purchase contracts in accordance with company and government regulations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, or Controls Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
- Expected graduation date in December 2027, May or December 2028, or May or December 2029.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Demonstrated initiative and a strong interest in the nuclear power industry.
- Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
