About the role#
This internship provides students with exposure to the GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy business. Interns work onsite with customers to support legacy fleet reactors. You will join a team focused on servicing reactors safely and efficiently to return them to service. This position is a paid, full-time opportunity starting in January 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform maintenance and inspection activities on Boiling Water Reactors.
- Attend entry-level technical training.
- Travel to domestic nuclear refueling outages.
- Work as part of high-performance teams to complete safe and error-free work.
- Complete shorter duration projects at the Wilmington, NC site when not at outages.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a full-time undergraduate program with a primary major in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, Environmental, or Computer Engineering, or Nursing or Physics.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA without rounding.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 70% to domestic plant sites.
- Strong customer service mindset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
