About the role#
This is a part-time, student assistant position with the California Department of Transportation. You will work under the supervision of the Chief of the Office of Project Delivery Professional Development and their staff. This role focuses on cataloging divisional guidance, manuals, and policy while assisting with the maintenance of Project Delivery intranet sites.
What you'll do#
- Locate, identify, and track existing and proposed directives, manuals, and other guidance.
- Document website content and layout to assist developers with site maintenance.
- Create flowcharts, tables, spreadsheets, data visualizations, and written documents.
- Support administrative tasks such as LMS course management, procurement justifications, and email maintenance.
- Assist with the identification and development of learning content.
- Attend and help organize staff meetings for the Project Delivery eLearning Unit.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student at an accredited institution on the university affiliation list.
- Minimum of six semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduates; four semester units or six quarter units for graduates.
- Minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.
- Majors in Business Administration, Computer Science, Communications, or related fields.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with an ability to work independently or in a team.
- Preference is given to qualified applicants up to age 26 who are or have been a dependent child in foster care, a homeless youth, a formerly incarcerated youth, or a victim of human trafficking.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Work hours are flexible and determined by your supervisor. You may work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours during breaks.
- Compensation: $18.27 to $24.62 per hour.
