About the role#
The University Union at Sacramento State is looking for a student to serve as the primary point of contact for the Event Services Office. You will work with faculty, staff, students, and the community to schedule meetings and events using event scheduling software.
What you'll do#
- Greet and direct customers entering the office.
- Answer the main phone line and direct calls.
- Manage online meeting requests through the OPUS system.
- Oversee a shared email inbox and distribute communications.
- Enter meeting and event information into the database.
- Learn and share basic event policies with patrons.
- Handle administrative tasks such as printing, copying, filing, and shredding documents.
What you'll need#
- Must be a student currently attending classes at Sacramento State.
- Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least nine semester units; graduate students need at least six units.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work accurately.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Ability to work effectively with people from diverse communities and cultures.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Shifts are available Monday through Saturday. Students generally work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during breaks.
