About the role#
The Externship Coordinator manages externship sites for students in the LMRT program. You will report to the Campus President and build partnerships within the medical community to support student success and job placement. This is a full-time role with a hybrid schedule that includes both on-site responsibilities and remote work.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain partnerships with externship sites.
- Help students secure externships with the goal that 40 percent are hired by their site.
- Visit sites regularly and keep in contact with supervisors.
- Ensure all activities meet state, federal, and accreditation standards like TWC and ABHES.
- Manage student records including timesheets, evaluations, and surveys.
- Host externship orientation sessions.
- Act as the main contact between students, faculty, and clinical sites.
- Assist students with professionalism, resume writing, and interview prep.
- Work with Career Services to improve graduate employment outcomes.
- Update affiliation agreements and log data in CampusVue.
- Counsel students through their externship period and perform exit reviews.
What you'll need#
- Completion of an LMRT program or certificate with at least 3 years of related experience, or an Associate degree in Radiologic Technology with at least 2 years of experience.
- Strong skills in communication, organization, and interpersonal relations.
- Ability to build professional relationships with clinical partners.
- Familiarity with student tracking systems or databases is a plus, specifically CampusVue.
- Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards is preferred.
