    About the role#

    The College of Health Care Professions is seeking a full-time Medical Coding & Billing Instructor and Externship Coordinator to mentor students in Houston, Texas. This position involves both classroom instruction and the coordination of student externships. Individuals with industry experience who are looking to transition into education are encouraged to apply, as no prior teaching experience is required.

    What you'll do#

    • Deliver curriculum content to Medical Coding & Billing students.
    • Mentor and support students throughout their educational journey.
    • Foster a positive and professional learning environment.
    • Prepare students for success in the healthcare field.
    • Coordinate and support externship opportunities for students.
    • Collaborate with campus leadership and staff to ensure student success.

    What you'll need#

    • Minimum of 3 years of Medical Coding and Billing experience.
    • One of the following certifications: CBCS (Certified Billing and Coding Specialist), CPC (Certified Professional Coder), or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist).
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • Professionalism and leadership qualities.
    • A desire to contribute to healthcare education.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Houston, Texas.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: Full-time, including day hours (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM) and evening hours (5:00 PM to 10:00 PM).
    • Eligibility: Open to majors in Health Administration, Nursing, and Public Health.
