About the role#
The College of Health Care Professions is seeking an Externship Coordinator to support Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (LMRT) students. This role serves as a bridge between students, faculty, and healthcare partners, ensuring that students successfully transition from the classroom into clinical environments.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain partnerships with healthcare facilities for externship placements.
- Coordinate student placements and support their transition into clinical training.
- Ensure the externship process remains compliant with state, federal, and accreditation standards.
- Conduct site visits and maintain ongoing communication with site supervisors.
- Monitor student progress and provide guidance throughout the externship experience.
- Organize and maintain accurate records, including timesheets, evaluations, and feedback.
- Lead externship orientations and act as the primary liaison between students, faculty, and clinical sites.
- Support students with professional development tasks, such as resume building and interview preparation.
- Collaborate with Career Services to track and improve job placement outcomes.
- Maintain affiliation agreements and ensure accurate documentation in CampusVue.
- Conduct final evaluations and exit reviews to assess student success.
What you'll need#
- Completion of an LMRT program or certificate with at least 3 years of professional experience, or a Radiologic Technology Associate’s degree with at least 2 years of professional experience.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple relationships and processes effectively.
- A passion for student success and career development.
