The Externship Coordinator for the LMRT Program serves as a bridge between students, faculty, and healthcare partners. This role focuses on facilitating the transition of Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist students from the classroom into clinical environments, ensuring they receive meaningful training that supports their future careers in healthcare.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain partnerships with healthcare facilities to secure externship placements.
- Coordinate student placements and support their transition into clinical training.
- Ensure the externship process remains compliant with state, federal, and accreditation standards.
- Conduct site visits and maintain regular communication with site supervisors.
- Monitor student progress, provide guidance, and offer support throughout the externship experience.
- Lead externship orientations and act as the primary liaison between students, faculty, and clinical sites.
- Organize and maintain accurate documentation, including timesheets, evaluations, and affiliation agreements.
- Support students with professional development tasks such as resume building and interview preparation.
- Collaborate with Career Services to track job placement outcomes and conduct final evaluations.
What you'll need#
- Completion of an LMRT Program or Certificate with at least 3 years of professional experience, or a Radiologic Technology Associate’s Degree with at least 2 years of professional experience.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple relationships and processes effectively.
- A commitment to student success and professional development.
