About the role#
The Externship Coordinator supports students in the LMRT program as they transition from the classroom to clinical practice. This role serves as a liaison between students, faculty, and healthcare partners to secure externship placements and facilitate successful employment outcomes.
What you'll do#
- Recruit, develop, and maintain externship sites to support student placements.
- Build and maintain relationships within the medical community to expand opportunities.
- Ensure at least 40% of externship students are hired by their placement sites.
- Monitor compliance with federal, state, TWC, and accreditation standards.
- Track student progress through externship, maintain student records, and conduct final exit evaluations.
- Conduct weekly site visits and maintain regular communication with site supervisors.
- Organize and lead externship orientations while counseling students on attendance, professionalism, and performance expectations.
- Support students with career readiness tasks, including resume building and interview preparation.
- Collaborate with Career Services to support graduate employment outcomes.
- Maintain and update affiliation agreements and internal records.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current certification as an ARRT, RT, or LMRT.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet performance targets.
- Previous experience in relationship-building, coordination, or healthcare settings is preferred.
