About the role#
The Externship Coordinator for the LMRT program at The College of Health Care Professions serves as a primary link between students, faculty, and healthcare partners. This full-time position focuses on securing clinical placements and facilitating the transition of students from the classroom into professional healthcare roles.
What you'll do#
- Recruit, develop, and maintain externship sites to support student placements.
- Build and manage relationships within the medical community to expand placement opportunities.
- Ensure at least 40% of externship students are hired by their placement sites.
- Monitor compliance with federal, state, TWC, and accreditation standards.
- Track student progress through the externship and conduct final exit evaluations.
- Collaborate with Career Services to support graduate employment outcomes.
- Maintain accurate student records, including evaluations, timecards, and surveys.
- Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and site supervisors.
- Conduct weekly site visits and organize externship orientations.
- Support students with career readiness tasks such as resume building and interview preparation.
- Counsel students on attendance, professionalism, and performance expectations.
- Maintain and update affiliation agreements and internal records.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current certification as ARRT, RT, or LMRT.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet performance targets.
- Experience in relationship-building, coordination, or healthcare settings is preferred.
