About the role#
The Pharmacy Technician Externship Coordinator manages the externship program for students. This role involves building partnerships with pharmacies and healthcare facilities to secure placement sites. You will serve as the primary contact for students during their externship, providing guidance on professional expectations and career readiness. This is a full-time, paid position based in Texas.
What you'll do#
- Manage a network of externship sites and secure new affiliations based on student locations.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate student performance and maintain relationships with partners.
- Teach and manage the online externship course.
- Provide one-on-one tutoring for students preparing for their board exams.
- Lead externship orientations and assist students with resume writing and interview preparation.
- Collaborate with Career Services to help students transition into full-time employment.
- Track student progress, manage timecards, and ensure all affiliation agreements and evaluations remain current.
What you'll need#
- An Associates Degree.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail, hospital, or specialty pharmacy setting.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience coordinating clinical placements, student training, or workforce development programs.
- Experience building partnerships with healthcare facilities and community organizations.
- Proficiency in learning management systems and curriculum delivery.
- Ability to conduct site visits and resolve performance issues.
- You must reside in Texas.
- Previous teaching or training experience in allied health or adult learning is preferred.
