About the role#
The QA Automation Intern will join our Public Facing Solutions team for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site in Plano, Texas, to gain hands-on experience with UI, API, and microservices testing. This is a paid, full-time internship where you will receive mentorship while contributing to our test automation frameworks and manual testing efforts.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain test automation using Katalon and API tests via ReadyAPI or Postman.
- Design and execute test cases for new features and support regression testing cycles.
- Document and track defects in Jira or Zephyr and work with developers to identify root causes.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions and analyze test failures.
- Participate in Scrum events to refine acceptance criteria and ensure appropriate test coverage.
- Apply secure testing practices and follow standard QA documentation procedures.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Basic programming knowledge and an understanding of test automation fundamentals.
- Introductory SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exposure to Katalon, ReadyAPI, Postman, Jira, or Zephyr is helpful.
- Experience or coursework involving Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
- Exposure to AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude-code.
