About the role#
Samtec is looking for an Engineering Co-op to train as a Radio Frequency Integrated Circuit Engineer. You will work with experienced RFIC engineers to design, develop, and test Microwave, RF, and Mixed-signal circuit blocks. This role involves using SiGe and RF-CMOS semiconductor processes to create custom RFICs. You will gain hands-on experience in simulation, layout, and verification, followed by lab work to validate your designs.
What you'll do#
- Design, simulate, and layout Analog/RF Integrated Circuit blocks, beginning with concept and feasibility studies.
- Use the Cadence Virtuoso design suite for schematics, symbols, and layouts.
- Analyze power consumption, component stress, and worst case performance.
- Participate in the design review process and complete circuit designs.
- Define bench bring-up and test plans to validate designs from prototypes to production.
- Measure design parameters of fabricated ICs using lab tools like voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and soldering irons.
- Provide engineering support to Production and Applications Engineering teams.
- Deliver technical presentations.
- Learn the standard IC design methodology flow.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Program.
- Interest in transistor level, analog circuit design.
- Coursework in Analog IC design, RF and Microwave circuit design, Semiconductors, and Electromagnetism.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Chandler, Arizona.
- This is an on-site, part-time role with a minimum requirement of twenty hours per week.
- The schedule is flexible, ideally between 8AM and 6PM, Monday through Friday.
