About the role#
We are looking for a system validation engineering intern to join our Blade and Rack Validation team in Austin. You will help drive the validation of next-generation AI infrastructure hardware, ensuring our systems meet performance and functional goals. This role involves working across the full post-silicon lifecycle, from test planning to system debug, while collaborating with our silicon, firmware, and platform engineering teams.
What you'll do#
- Plan, develop, and automate testcases for AI compute blades and racks.
- Execute validation testcases and debug systems against program milestones.
- Report on validation progress and identify potential risks.
- Provision and integrate system components like SoC firmware, BMC, RMC, and OS to ensure rack-level readiness.
- Triage test failures, gather debug data, and work with the team to identify root causes.
- Track validation coverage and improve our existing test processes and infrastructure.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Interest in gaining experience with large-scale server or AI hardware validation.
- Experience with hardware validation or debug for x86 or ARM-based server systems, racks, or embedded hardware.
- Knowledge of CPU, GPU, memory, IO, and BIOS testing concepts.
- Proficiency in Linux or server OS environments.
- Automation skills using Python or Bash.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and large-scale test automation.
- Familiarity with lab environments.
- Helpful, though not required: knowledge of BMC, IPMI, Redfish, OpenBMC, and test or asset management tools.
