About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will contribute to the mechanical design and thermal validation of advanced AI hardware. You will work alongside experienced engineers to gain hands-on experience with 3D CAD, laboratory setup, test development, and prototype evaluation.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to mechanical design activities using Creo or comparable 3D CAD software, including part modeling, assemblies, and drawings.
- Work with the thermal engineering team to develop test procedures and set up laboratory capabilities for evaluating AI hardware.
- Support thermal and mechanical testing using laboratory equipment and collect, organize, and analyze the resulting data.
- Assist the team with prototype evaluation, troubleshooting, design verification, and documentation of findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering partners and follow laboratory and safety procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral program in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- Foundational knowledge of mechanical design, heat transfer, thermodynamics, materials, or manufacturing.
- Ability to approach technical problems analytically and document work accurately.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new tools and methods.
- Hands-on laboratory experience, such as setting up equipment or conducting tests.
- Experience with 3D CAD software, with Creo experience preferred.
- Relevant experience through coursework, research, student teams, internships, or personal building projects.
- Interest in thermal management, electronics cooling, or data center hardware.
