About the role#
This is a 6-month full-time co-op assignment within the Direct Pressure Engineering group. You will report to the Director of Engineering and contribute to the design, analysis, build, and test of capacitance sensors and transducers. This role requires on-site work in Andover, Massachusetts, starting in January 2027.
What you'll do#
- Partner with engineering and production teams to build prototype designs.
- Perform mechanical and thermal analyses using SolidWorks or COMSOL FEA.
- Test pressure transducers at both the sensor and system level.
- Diagnose production issues related to sensor performance.
- Analyze test data and write detailed reports.
- Design and fabricate test equipment using methods like 3D printing and CNC milling.
- Support the design and troubleshooting of test systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD modeling.
- Ability to process data using Microsoft Excel, MATLAB, or Python.
- Experience with standard hand tools for building electromechanical devices.
- Familiarity with electrical testing and debugging methods.
- Understanding of mechanical design and heat transfer principles.
- Experience with test instrumentation such as thermocouples, strain gauges, or infrared cameras.
- Status as a US Person.

- Term: Winter 2027 (6 months).

- Compensation: $23.00 to $31.00 per hour.
- Travel: Up to 10% travel may be required.
