About the role#
MKS Inc. is hiring a Manufacturing Engineering intern to support the development of new technologies and products within our optics manufacturing division. You will work directly with the Engineering group on technical projects, gaining hands-on experience in a professional environment. This is a full-time, paid position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Support process automation initiatives to improve workflow efficiency.
- Participate in new product introduction and special project initiatives.
- Engage in continuous improvement projects using Lean tools and 6S methodologies.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma process tools to drive operational improvements.
- Use JMP statistical software to perform multi-factorial design of experiments.
- Contribute to product innovation and support production improvements in optics manufacturing.
- Perform root cause analysis and 8D problem-solving to address recurring issues.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed work instructions, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn on the job.
- Excellent time management and technical writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

- Pay: $25.00 per hour.
