About the role#
MKS Inc. is looking for a Facilities Intern or Co-op to support daily operations, maintenance planning, and improvement projects at our Irvine location. Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, you will gain hands-on experience in real estate development, space planning, and contractor coordination. This position focuses on infrastructure initiatives and provides practical training in facilities management, asset tracking, and EHS compliance.
What you'll do#
- Assist with facility inspections and track corrective actions and EHS compliance.
- Support preventive maintenance scheduling and documentation using CMMS.
- Coordinate vendor activities for janitorial, HVAC, fire protection, and landscaping services.
- Contribute to asset tracking, space planning, and internal office moves.
- Assist with new building project coordination, including contractor walkthroughs, documentation, and logistical planning.
- Maintain facility records, SDS binders, evacuation and emergency plans, and signage.
- Support energy sustainability initiatives, respond to internal work requests, and help with safety drills and events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a program related to Project Management, Construction Management, or Facilities Management.
- Strong interest in construction coordination, project planning, and managing schedules across multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to interpret drawings, project documentation, and timelines with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with AutoCAD, project scheduling tools, or CMMS is an asset.
