About the role#
MKS Inc. is hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This full-time, paid position is based on-site in Franklin, Massachusetts. You will work within the Engineering group to support the development of new technologies and products through hands-on technical projects.
What you'll do#
- Support Process Automation initiatives to improve workflow efficiency.
- Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) and special project initiatives.
- Apply Lean tools, 6S methodologies, and Lean Six Sigma process tools to continuous improvement projects.
- Use JMP statistical software to perform multi-factorial Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Contribute to product development processes and support production improvements in optics manufacturing.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis and 8D problem-solving to address recurring issues.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn on the job.
- Organized approach with attention to detail.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Excellent time management skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
