About the role#
This is a full-time Engineering/Development internship based in the Optical Sensing Products division at MKS Inc. You will work under the guidance of an engineering supervisor to support the development of new technology and products. This is a 4-month position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Design, run, and analyze experiments to evaluate precision temperature and position sensing technology.
- Design, build, and validate new test equipment.
- Set up and calibrate optical and thermal characterization tools.
- Write and maintain test documentation such as plans, procedures, and reports.
- Use statistical software to analyze data and draw conclusions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s program for Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or a related field.
- Experience with hardware, lab equipment, and hands-on troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python, LabView, or MATLAB.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Analytical skills and attention to detail when interpreting data.
- Ability to manage your time effectively to meet project deadlines.

- Location: Richmond, British Columbia, Canada.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $25.00 per hour.
