About the role#
Qorvo is hiring a Mechanical-Systems Engineering Intern to join our Global Operations business group. This internship provides exposure to manufacturing processes and allows you to contribute to projects that improve equipment efficiency and site operations.
What you'll do#
- Optimize manufacturing equipment and maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
- Observe cross-functional processes to improve cycle time, safety, and cost.
- Develop and consolidate KPIs and dashboards.
- Establish SPC standards in key work areas.
- Use LEAN tools like A3, 8D, and 8-step to drive improvements.
- Manage assembly layout projects.
- Provide weekly status updates to your manager regarding project health and timelines.
- Document your findings and present them in team meetings.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Experience with computer databases, specifically Oracle, SQL, and Advanced Excel Macros.
- Familiarity with reporting and statistical tools such as JMP, Spotfire, or Tableau.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong mechanical aptitude for working with manufacturing equipment and tooling.
- Ability to work well with team members and communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
