About the role#
This internship offers the opportunity to work across the engineering stack, from chip design to rack-scale deployment. You will join teams focused on silicon photonics manufacturing and system integration to help move data through photonic computing platforms.
What you'll do#
- Support the design and simulation of optical components and photonic interconnects.
- Help develop and run tests to validate silicon photonics products.
- Assist in the design and verification of analog and mixed-signal circuits.
- Contribute to the characterization and integration of laser sources.
- Support board bring-up, lab validation, and system integration.
- Work on RTL development, modeling of photonics circuitry, and developing algorithms and control logic.
- Build testbenches and run simulations to verify complex chip designs.
- Perform synthesis, timing analysis, floor planning, place-and-route, or physical verification of ASIC blocks.
- Develop low-level drivers, active laser control algorithms, and system-level telemetry.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing or recently completed a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience gained through coursework, capstone projects, research labs, or previous internships.
- Familiarity with at least one relevant tool such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, ADS, or Cadence.
- A curious and collaborative mindset with a comfort for asking questions.
