About the role#
NVIDIA is looking for a PhD Research Intern to join the Hardware and Systems Architecture team. This role focuses on long-term technology development, looking 5 to 10 years into the future of computing. You will work on research that extends beyond current product cycles to shape future hardware and software systems.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research on algorithms, hardware, and system software in areas like deep learning, robotics, and general computing.
- Invent new techniques, methodologies, and devices that enable future product types.
- Develop methods for the scientific evaluation of research artifacts, including simulation, modeling, and benchmarking.
- Create prototypes and technical documentation that serve as the basis for future technology.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a PhD program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
- At least one year of research experience in computer architecture or systems, such as operating systems, compilers, or AI/ML systems.
- Strong programming skills, with a preference for C, C++, and Python.
- Experience evaluating research ideas through prototyping, simulation, or experimentation.
- A willingness to use AI tools for software development and system design.
- Ability to communicate research methods and results clearly.

- Pay: 38 USD to 94 USD per hour, depending on experience and education.
