About the role#
This role focuses on the transition from verified RTL to a manufacturable chip. You will work within our Physical Design and DFT teams to address timing constraints, power tradeoffs, and testability. We use a single application process to match you with the specific team and location that fits your background.
What you'll do#
- Perform synthesis, floorplanning, place and route, clocking, and timing closure.
- Develop ML-assisted approaches for physical design flows.
- Design hardware to enable structural post-silicon test.
- Support JTAG, Scan/ATPG, and MBIST methodologies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering.
- Solid understanding of logic design, VLSI, and transistor-level concepts.
- Familiarity with PnR tools, timing analysis, and power optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with JTAG, MBIST, and scan concepts.
- Hands-on experience with a commercial PnR toolchain like Synopsys or Cadence.
- Proficiency in scripting with Tcl, Perl, Shell, or Python.
- Coursework or projects in DFT, test methodology, VLSI, digital design, or computer architecture.
- Interest in using AI tools to accelerate development and workflows.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role based in Austin, TX, Boston, MA, Fort Collins, CO, or Santa Clara, CA.
- Available for Winter, Summer, and Fall 2027 terms.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- Employment is contingent upon eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology.
