About the role#
NVIDIA is seeking PhD Research Interns to join the Quantum and Chemistry Research team. You will work on integrating GPU architectures with quantum computers and developing new AI models for chemistry. The team focuses on quantum algorithms, generative models, agentic systems, and robotics for self-driving labs.
What you'll do#
- Advance research in AI-driven quantum algorithms, generative models for chemistry, self-driving labs, or agentic AI.
- Present your findings at relevant scientific, technical, and industry conferences.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a PhD program for Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related engineering field.
- Background in Quantum Information Science.
- Expertise in at least one of the following: quantum chemistry, quantum machine learning, applied quantum algorithms, robotics for self-driving labs, generative models for chemistry, or computational agentic frameworks.
- Research experience in a graduate setting related to these topics.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Additional experience with GPU computing, software systems development, machine learning methods, scaling large-scale AI models, or high-performance computing is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Employment: Full-time internship.
- Compensation: 77 CAD to 99 CAD per hour, based on experience and education level.
- Benefits: Eligible for intern benefits.
- Term: Rolling basis, with applications accepted until at least September 20, 2026.
