About the role#
Northrop Grumman is hiring an Electronics Engineering Intern for the Naval & Oceanic Systems business unit. This role is based in Annapolis, Maryland, and focuses on the development, testing, and sustainment of subsea systems. You will work on technologies including uncrewed undersea vehicles, ROVs, acoustic sensors, and maritime communication systems. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Develop and troubleshoot electrical designs using tools like MatLab, LT Spice, and MS Office.
- Assess candidate components and add them to design tool libraries.
- Implement circuit designs using electrical CAD programs like Siemens Xpedition and Capital Logic.
- Gain hands-on experience with circuit layout for printed wire boards, interconnects, and engineering drawings.
- Use electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, DC power supplies, and network analyzers.
- Participate in the design and testing of Sonar receivers and subsea electronics.
- Support the full project lifecycle from conceptualization and prototyping to manufacturing, testing, and fielding.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university, with plans to return to school in Fall 2027.
- A major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2027.
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher is preferred.
- A current, active U.S. Government Secret clearance is preferred.
