About the role#
This internship spans multiple hardware teams including Architecture, AI Hardware, and System on a Chip (SoC). You will apply once, and we will match you to a specific team and location based on your skills and interests. This is an on-site role based in Austin, Boston, Fort Collins, or Santa Clara.
What you'll do#
- Architecture: Define and evaluate system, CPU, memory, fabric, and chiplet-level decisions. You will analyze workloads, performance, power, and system requirements while developing architectural models and specifications.
- AI Hardware: Design and develop core AI accelerator IP. This involves RTL design and verification of compute and data movement blocks.
- SoC: Integrate all subsystems and manage the final design. You will validate cross-functional requirements, handle on-chip system management, security, and scaleout, and prepare the design for silicon.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Coursework or projects in digital design, computer architecture, and performance modeling.
- Familiarity with ASIC design concepts such as performance simulations, RTL design, logic synthesis, and timing analysis.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages like Python, PERL, tcl, or C/C++.
- Experience using AI coding platforms.
- A self-starter mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of tasks.
- Bonus points for experience with architectural simulators, RISC-V or other open ISAs, and FPGA design.

- Locations: Austin, TX; Boston, MA; Fort Collins, CO; or Santa Clara, CA.
- Terms: Winter 2027, Summer 2027, and Fall 2027.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
