About the role#
Crystal Group is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our team. This role focuses on the design, development, and verification of custom electrical assemblies and interconnects. You will work on full-stack development of mixed signal printed circuit boards and assist with chassis and interface wiring design. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Iowa.
What you'll do#
- Convert technical requirements into schematic diagrams, printed circuit board layouts, and assembly drawings.
- Assist System Architects in researching, designing, and evaluating systems.
- Provide component-level review and electrical troubleshooting support.
- Investigate equipment failures and recommend fixes.
- Design, implement, and improve electrical components or systems.
- Develop and test electrical models to assess feasibility and performance.
- Direct manufacturing and testing activities to ensure designs meet specifications.
- Perform electrical calculations and write reports on engineering studies.
- Design electrical test control apparatus and provide technical assistance for pilot line builds.
- Evaluate prototypes for energy performance and environmental impact.
What you'll need#
- You must be a US Person, which includes US Citizens, Permanent Residents, or protected persons.
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Experience with PCB and schematic layout.
- Familiarity with CAD software and general computer equipment.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team, managing multiple project milestones.
Location & details#
- This role is located in Hiawatha and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
- The work is on-site, Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5pm.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- You may occasionally need to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods during product testing.
