About the role#
The People & Culture Intern gains hands-on experience in core human resources functions while helping manage the student internship program at Crystal Group. You will work closely with the People & Culture team to coordinate events, support recruiting, and complete an assigned project. This role offers exposure to employee-owner support, benefits, and payroll processes.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate the student internship program, including activity calendars and scheduling.
- Organize intern learning events, professional development activities, and EOB company tours.
- Prepare and distribute program communications.
- Develop and administer intern satisfaction surveys to gather feedback and suggest improvements.
- Represent Crystal Group at community STEM events.
- Plan and organize a student volunteer day.
- Support recruiting and onboarding tasks, such as interview scheduling and material preparation.
- Assist with routine documentation and data entry.
- Observe and learn about employee-owner support, benefits, and payroll.
- Complete an assigned project with established milestones and final presentations.
What you'll need#
- Must be a US Person (US Citizen, permanent resident, or protected person).
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, communications, or a related field.
- Genuine interest in People & Culture, student engagement, and program coordination.
- Previous internship, HR support, or administrative experience is preferred.
- Experience coordinating events, student organizations, volunteer activities, or group projects is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
- Locations: Hiawatha, IA and Cedar Rapids, IA.
- Work involves exposure to manufacturing and testing environments, which may require standing for extended periods or lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Employment is contingent on completing a background check and drug screen.
