About the role#
This is a paid, full-time summer internship for students interested in the electrical construction industry. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience on active projects. This role is based in Sterling, Virginia, and requires on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with electrical system design activities.
- Support the preparation and review of drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Perform basic electrical calculations and engineering analyses.
- Participate in project meetings and collaborate with engineering and construction teams.
- Support field visits and site observations.
- Learn and use industry software, tools, and engineering best practices.
- Provide administrative and technical support to the engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or a related engineering field.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later, with a preference for rising juniors or seniors.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and concepts.
- Familiarity with Autodesk software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering analysis software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow direction, ask questions, and take initiative.
- A positive attitude and the ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
