About the role#
Halff is seeking a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Intern to join the MEP team in San Antonio, Texas. This is a full-time, paid internship running from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027. You will work 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from 8a to 5p. Please note that housing is not provided for this position.
What you'll do#
You will work on commercial, industrial, and institutional projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer. Your responsibilities include:
- Designing mechanical or electrical engineering projects.
- Performing drafting work in CAD.
- Completing calculations and analysis for design projects.
- Creating electrical project documents, plans, and specifications for lighting and power systems.
- Assisting with HVAC and plumbing design projects.
- Preparing permit applications and regulatory documents.
- Coordinating with team members, including architects, surveyors, and contractors.
- Attending meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
- Working with Project Managers to meet deadlines and manage project schedules, materials, and equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program for Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an ABET accredited equivalent.
- Familiarity or experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
- Strong organizational and self-motivation skills.
- Effective communication and team-building abilities.
