About the role#
Samtec is hiring an Electrical Engineering student for a Hardware Design Co-op. You will join our team to design electronic hardware that supports our engineering, marketing, and production groups. This role involves the full design cycle, from initial concepts to hands-on testing in the lab.
What you'll do#
- Brainstorm early concepts with marketing and engineering teams.
- Design and develop printed circuit boards.
- Collaborate with Signal Integrity engineers, layout designers, and software engineers.
- Document your test plans and the resulting data.
- Oversee the manufacturing and assembly of your prototypes.
- Perform system bring-up and validation testing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering program.
- Basic understanding of analog and digital circuits.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools like Orcad or Allegro.
- Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach to problem-solving.
- Knowledge of scripting or programming languages is a plus.
