About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship with the USIM Capital Solutions team. You will work on-site in Toronto, Ontario. This role offers the chance to gain experience in the insurance industry while working alongside actuarial professionals.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and analyze premium reset exercises using Excel or GGY AXIS.
- Manage day-to-day inforce monitoring by preparing calculations, reports, and analysis.
- Improve processes through automation and update documentation for risk management tasks.
- Assist with data extract reviews during Admin system transitions.
- Support longevity business experience analysis and prepare reports for valuation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Mathematics program with a major in Actuarial Science.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of core actuarial concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with GGY AXIS, Prophet, VBA, or Python is preferred.
- Having passed at least one SOA exam is preferred.
