About the role#
As an Underwriting Summer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in risk management and insurance at a global reinsurance company. You will work with our team to assess mortality risk and learn how data influences insurance policies. This role involves both individual and group projects designed to build your professional skills and prepare you for a career in underwriting.
What you'll do#
- Assist in medical research for Underwriting Manual reviews.
- Conduct underwriting research, including updates to Underwriting Specialty topics.
- Review small new business underwriting cases.
- Participate in continuing medical education.
- Attend lunch and learn sessions to explore insurance and medical topics.
- Collaborate with other interns and employees on department projects.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Effective analytical skills to gather information, analyze facts, and draw conclusions.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
