About the role#
The Investment Real Estate team manages a portfolio of commercial mortgage loans and equity joint ventures. As an intern, you will work with the Asset Management and Surveillance team to gain experience in portfolio monitoring, loan servicing, and underwriting. This role provides exposure to how market data and financial information are used to evaluate commercial real estate value and support portfolio management decisions.
What you'll do#
- Assist analysts with ongoing portfolio monitoring tasks.
- Focus on the annual loan quality rating process.
- Collect and analyze property-level data and review borrower financials.
- Prepare spreadsheet analyses of income, expenses, and rent rolls.
- Support surveillance efforts for the commercial mortgage loan portfolio.
- Participate in watch list discussions and research emerging loan risks.
- Help prepare loan packages for Credit Committee review to support new underwriting.
- Complete cross-functional projects as time permits.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time Junior, Senior, or Graduate student.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field at an accredited university.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Capability to organize, interpret, and present data clearly.
- Interest in technology, process improvement, automation, or data tools.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Chesterfield, Missouri.
