About the role#
As a Financial Officer Intern, you will learn how to advise customers on products that meet their financial needs. You will gain insight into customer operations and priorities while building relationships with teammates and the local community. This is a 12-week paid internship during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Learn general office procedures and assist with promotional activities.
- Input annual financial customer data and analyze their financial position.
- Conduct credit verifications with lenders and references.
- Promote the organization through public activities.
- Observe marketing, sales, and prospecting calls.
- Shadow the team during loan applications, renewals, and closings to understand legal requirements.
- Learn about real estate and chattel appraisal procedures by observing an appraiser.
- Complete assigned special projects.
- Travel to Omaha, Nebraska three times for orientation, mid-summer, and closing events. Travel expenses are covered.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in Ag Business, Accounting, Finance, Agricultural Economics, Animal Science, or a similar field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A desire to understand ag finance, lending, and credit.

- This is a full-time internship. A competitive hourly wage and a $500 sign-on bonus are provided. Relocation assistance is available for those who qualify.
