About the role#
This summer internship offers an introduction to the reinsurance industry. You will learn the life cycle of a policy from issuance to termination. The role focuses on data analytics, reporting, and claims processing. You will work under limited supervision to perform analysis on reinsurance and retro claims, while collaborating with various departments to resolve complex issues.
What you'll do#
- Analyze moderately complex claim data to ensure compliance with treaty terms.
- Create and run SQL queries to support reporting initiatives.
- Prepare reports for management to track claims production and quality.
- Monitor system data to ensure accurate claim accruals.
- Collaborate with Claim Examiners and OSC Processors to identify needs and improve procedural documentation.
- Participate in internal and client-related audits.
- Manage and oversee large volumes of data with attention to detail.
- Complete assigned projects according to provided instructions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Ability to summarize and develop reports from large data sets using Excel and SQL.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with a preference for advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- A willingness to learn, ask questions, and contribute new ideas.
- Authorization to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without the need for employer sponsorship.
