About the role#
The Employee Relations Intern provides administrative and project support to the Employee Relations team. You will gain practical experience in human resources, workplace investigations, employee advocacy, policy administration, performance management, and compliance. This role involves assisting with research, documentation, reporting, and special projects while maintaining high levels of confidentiality and professionalism.
What you'll do#
- Assist team members with case management, documentation, and administrative support.
- Organize records and gather information to support workplace investigations.
- Help with projects focused on engagement, communication, policy administration, and workplace culture.
- Research employment-related topics and summarize findings.
- Observe processes related to conflict resolution, performance management, and corrective action.
- Track metrics, reporting, and trend analysis.
- Support ADA accommodation, unemployment, leave administration, and employee complaint processes.
- Create training materials, presentations, and communication resources.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
- Maintain sensitive employee information.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to learn HRIS, case management, and reporting systems.
- Strong data entry and documentation skills.
- Prior experience in customer service, leadership, volunteer roles, campus organizations, or administrative work is preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in Human Resources or Employee Relations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong attention to detail and a customer-service mindset.
