About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to work within our Viticulture and Grape Breeding research teams. You will participate in projects focused on precision growing, yield management, and fruit quality. This role involves collaboration with internal experts and industry partners to support our wine grape production efforts.
What you'll do#
- Characterize grapevine phenotypic traits including cluster architecture, berry size, and canopy structure.
- Collect field data, plant tissues for genetic analysis, and fruit samples for maturity and compositional testing.
- Determine vine yield components at harvest.
- Assist with experiments involving irrigation, canopy management, mechanization, and spatial variability.
- Operate sensors and field instrumentation to measure vine water status and leaf gas exchange.
- Travel to various vineyard sites for data collection, which may require lifting up to 40 lbs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Engineering, or Ag Business.
- Ability to work the full duration of the internship from June to December 2027.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and a reliable vehicle.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and applied technical skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.

- Location: Modesto, California.
- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
- Duration: 6 months (June 2027 to December 2027).
- Compensation: $24.00 to $28.00 per hour.
- Note: This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
