About the role#
The Commercial Lending Internship is a 10-week, full-time program running from early June through mid-August 2027. This paid position provides hands-on experience within the Centralized Credit Group and Commercial & Industrial Lending teams. You will work alongside industry professionals, participate in professional development, and engage in project work. High-performing interns may be considered for future employment opportunities upon completion of the program.
What you'll do#
- Support commercial banking loan portfolio administration.
- Provide underwriting support for loan renewals, modifications, extensions, and new money requests.
- Analyze company financial statements and evaluate industry and business risks.
- Learn the loan operations, approvals, and documentation process.
- Spread financial statements and apply Bank Credit Policy.
- Attend virtual external trainings and coursework.
- Support and present on projects, research, or operational activities to Senior Leaders.
- Gain practical exposure to the commercial lending process, from initial client discussions to portfolio management.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Completed at least one full year of college by May 2027.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting and financial statements.
- Fundamental computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Locations: Berwyn, PA; Wilmington, DE; Cherry Hill, NJ.
- Work Modality: This is an on-site role requiring the ability to work up to 5 days per week at a physical office.
- Requirements: You must have reliable transportation and be available for both in-person and virtual interviews, as well as an in-person orientation with Human Resources.
