About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship role for an Actuarial Student within the Structured Finance team. You will work on-site in Toronto, contributing to daily collateral monitoring and supporting the team with financial reporting and risk assessment tasks.
What you'll do#
- Prepare calculations, reports, and analysis for daily inforce collateral monitoring.
- Improve Structured Finance processes through automation and updated documentation using Excel, Python, and SQL.
- Use Bloomberg to extract asset data and update reports on pledged or held collateral assets.
- Assist the broader team with ad-hoc projects related to financial reporting or risk assessment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Mathematics program with a major in Actuarial Science.
- Knowledge of actuarial concepts appropriate for your current level of study.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in GGY AXIS or Prophet, SQL, and programming in Python or R.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have passed one or two SOA exams.
