About the role#
We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. You will work alongside experienced engineers to build, test, and maintain software that supports our internal systems and products. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Please note that this role requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and maintain software solutions.
- Assist in the development and testing of specific software features.
- Join team members for technical design discussions and code reviews.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues as they arise.
- Take part in agile ceremonies and contribute to team planning.
- Document your code, design decisions, and development processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Experience with at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, C#, C++, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with software development fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, version control, and testing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Preferred experience includes prior software development work through internships, co-ops, or academic projects, as well as familiarity with the software life cycle and Agile methodologies.
