About the role#
This is a full-time Software Engineering Internship for Summer 2027 based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. You will work on-site as part of a team of systems and software engineers. This role is open to U.S. citizens only.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and test software features for systems integrated into planes and helicopters.
- Practice leadership, communication, and coordination to deliver quality products.
- Travel domestically or internationally if required, up to 10 percent of the time.
- Gain knowledge in flight management systems and general software engineering practices.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Active enrollment through the end of the internship session.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Experience with C, C++, ADA, or Python, gained through coursework, projects, research, or previous work.
Preferred qualifications include the ability to draft system or software requirements, prior pilot or avionics experience, and previous internship or work experience with RTX.
