About the role#
As an Embedded Software Engineering Intern, you will work on high-performance sensor software systems for Counter Unmanned Airborne Systems and Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management. You will help build and improve the software that allows our sensors to detect and track new targets while maintaining high data throughput. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Syracuse, New York.
What you'll do#
- Write and improve performant software for embedded sensor systems.
- Process target data to ensure reliable performance.
- Build features that allow systems to monitor their own health and recover from faults.
- Connect sensor software to cloud-based systems and other network components.
- Work with cross-functional teams to architect solutions and define requirements.
- Participate in design and code reviews.
- Document your work and share designs with the team.
- Test and validate your code to ensure it operates without bugs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Completion of your Sophomore year by Summer 2027.
- A minimum GPA of 3.4.
- Proficiency with Python and experience working on Linux platforms.
- A solid grasp of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Self-motivation and a goal-oriented mindset.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the technology.
- Proficiency in C++ and familiarity with Radar Systems, Communication Systems, or Signal Processing are preferred.
