About the role#
We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our team in Syracuse, New York, for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on high-performance embedded sensor software systems, focusing on Counter Unmanned Airborne Systems and Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to software components that detect and track new types of targets.
- Process target data to ensure high throughput and reliable performance.
- Build systems that monitor performance and health metrics, including autonomous fault recovery.
- Interact with cloud-based systems and network components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, architect solutions, and implement features.
- Write performant software and improve existing code as an individual contributor.
- Participate in design and code reviews.
- Document and communicate your designs to your peers.
- Test and validate your work to ensure bug-free operation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- You must have completed your sophomore year by Summer 2027.
- A minimum GPA of 3.4 is required. Please include a recent transcript with your application.
- Proficiency with Python and experience developing on Linux platforms.
- An understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and implementation best practices.
- Proficiency with or a willingness to learn C++.
- Familiarity with radar systems, communication systems, and signal processing is helpful.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to the nature of our technology.
