About the role#
The Digital Manufacturing team at Ursa Major is looking for a software development intern for the Summer 2027 term. In this role, you will help us scale our rocket engine design, test, and manufacturing capabilities. You will work on software systems that optimize critical processes and manage data relationships within a small, cross-functional team.
What you'll do#
- Build high quality and reliable software.
- Implement and maintain automated tests to support refactoring and deployments.
- Use CI/CD, GitOps, and modern development practices to maintain speed.
- Participate in task planning and estimation with experienced mentors.
- Create clear and concise documentation.
- Collaborate with a supportive team of Software Engineers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science or Computer Engineering program.
- Proficiency with Python and SQL.
- Experience with a statically typed and compiled language such as Go, C#, Java, or Rust.
- Knowledge of data modeling, database normalization, and schema design.
- Experience with Linux and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with a container-based development workflow.
- Strong problem solving, project management, and communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. Person and eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
