About the role#
As Ursa Major expands its manufacturing, test, and research footprint, the Facilities & Capital Projects team manages the infrastructure that makes this growth possible. This internship offers hands-on experience in project management within an aerospace manufacturing environment. You will work alongside project managers, engineers, and external contractors on projects ranging from laboratory upgrades to large-scale campus development.
What you'll do#
- Support project managers through the planning, design, permitting, construction, and closeout phases of capital projects.
- Participate in design reviews, contractor coordination meetings, and site walks.
- Track project schedules, budgets, action items, submittals, and RFIs.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and proposals with guidance from the team.
- Perform field observations to document construction progress.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to identify facility needs and project requirements.
- Assist with cost tracking, bid comparisons, and value-engineering efforts.
- Help maintain facility plans, equipment records, and project documentation.
- Support project turnover, commissioning, and punch list activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Interest in construction, engineering, and capital project management.
- Ability to read and interpret technical information, with a preference for familiarity with construction drawings.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort working in both office settings and active construction or manufacturing areas.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with CAD, Bluebeam, or project management software is a plus.
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
